So last week I had my wallet stolen and I have spent much time since getting things cancelled, replaced, fraudulent charges dealt with, and so on. Well today I had one more issue and it was with PayPal. My card through them had some charges on it and one more came through today that I was confused on so I called to get it all straightened out. Everyone else I have had to deal with has been incredibly nice. Especially Target who was the one who first alerted me to the fraud in the first place, they even gave me the number to my local police since I didn’t have it especially handy. Anyway, so I call PayPal and after countless automated prompts and annoyances I finally get a person after selecting the STOLEN command and telling it NO my balance is not correct. I tell the lady what my problem is and she told me she can’t help me with a stolen card and has to direct me to customer service. Huh? Apparently the automated system doesn’t know who it should be directing me to. So then I spend a few minutes on hold only to get the most incredibly rude woman I have ever dealt with on such a matter. Even calling a utility or anyone else has never been such an unpleasant experience. She was incredibly short with me, she would scarcely let me explain why I was calling… and belive me, after a week of explaining my issues to various creditors, I have it down to just a few keywords, I am certainly not rambling. She would speak over me, cut me off, speak to me as though I was a moron… it was incredibly frustrating. It was almost like she didn’t believe me. I have a feeling, too, that nothing is actually going to be done that she said would be done. I dread having to call them back…
