12 August 2009: XBox had another update yesterday. I quite like it. One of the most notable for me was the Netflix enhancements. Adding the ability to browse categories, new releases, etc, is quite handy; then having the option to add them to your queue or watch them now. All they need to do next is allow for a full search. The next big addition is the Avatar Marketplace. I had always hoped they would come up with some more exciting clothing options, and now they have. I do think it is quite the cool idea, the only thing I am not too thrilled about is the cost. I was hoping it might be a bit cheaper. Much of the branded gear is 160 points: the same cost as a standard quality TV episode. Really? That doesn’t seem quite right. Microsoft is really going to make a killing off this. Other features like the Games on Demand and such I have yet to play around with, so I will have to wait to make my comments about them until later. In theory, it sounds good. I did look around though, it seems like a small library right now, but perhaps like the Wii or PS3, it will grow pretty quickly as the weeks pass. So far so good though, I am pretty happy with the upgrades.
